Rules and Guidelines

Registration and Team Size

Only registered teams may compete. Each group may have up to 3 members maximum. Register as a team or individual via Eventbrite.

Procedure

Participants have 2 days to build an app based on a theme announced at the start. Overnight stays are not allowed due to venue regulations. Return the following day at 9AM.

Platform and Technology

Mobile, web, or any platform is acceptable. Use any programming language you prefer. No restrictions on stack.

Build Something New

You cannot repackage an existing app or make minor feature changes. All code must be written during the hackathon period.

Version Control

We highly recommend using version control. Judges may request to see your source code during review. Your code remains your property — no IP transfer occurs.

Intellectual Property

All teams retain full ownership of what they create. DevCup exists to help developers showcase their talents, not to acquire your IP.
